The Parlor

Old Parlor O-H
“What Not” or etagere c. 1870 from the home, was previously purchased by Margaret Woodbury Strong and held with family diaries at the  Strong Museum. (Whereabouts now unknown)

A formal gathering room where a prominent family would display their finest furnishings and art. Some of the homes original art still remains in the home. Bamboo caning can be seen as a boarder for the walls below lovely moldings.  Original window treatments still exist in this room as well as a matching mirror over the white marble fireplace.  This room was attached to the library.  The library remains almost untouched with gold caning, stenciled ceiling, moldings and original carpet is still present.
